The fruit of my labor
Blessed is everyone who fears the LORD,
who walks in his ways!
You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands;
you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you.
-Psalm 128:1-2
O LORD
How I long to see the fruit of the labor of my hands.
Do I fear you? Have I properly shown you that you, and you alone, are the true desire of my heart?
It is only by placing you first that I can be blessed.
It is only by placing you first that I can eat such fruit, because my work needs to be honoring to you.
Help me, today, in offering my labor to you. Do not let me be distracted by the things of this world.
I labor and I struggle, and there are days when it seems like not a single blessing will fall on me.
O LORD, that I would praise you regardless. That I would trust you wholeheartedly to see my service to you, and believe in faith that you will bless me.
